① both and 的用法

both… and…是個並列連詞，意為「既……又……，……和……」，下面歸納下both and的用法。

both… and… 連接的兩個成分必須在形式、時態、詞性等方面完全一致，可以是形容詞、名詞、動詞和句子等，一般語法結構如下：both+形容詞+and+形容詞、both+名詞+and+名詞、both+句子+and+句子。
造句如下：

She's both ptetty and clever.(連接兩個形容詞），中文意思：她既漂亮又聰明。

I spoke to both the Director and his secretary.(連接兩個名詞）(NOTI both spoke to the director and his secretary)，中文意思：我對經理和他的秘書說。
She both plays the piano and sings.(連接兩個動詞)(NOTShe both palys the piano and she sings.)，中文意思：她既會彈鋼琴又會唱歌。

both and不採用就近原則，跟在該短語後面的謂語動詞必須採用復數形式，無論臨近的名詞或代詞的人稱或數是怎樣的。
